NIRS2 CE

The TECHEN NIRS2 CE system is shown. The major elements of the system include the NIRS instrument, computer and display, optical fibers, data acquisition cable and power cables.  These elements are shown and described below.

Laser source emitters: Laser light is emitted through the Laser Sources connectors on the left of the system.  These connectors fit standard SMA connectors for fiber optics. The screw dials to the left of each laser can manually adjust the Laser Intensity Adjustment for laser output power. The laser source fiber optic cables connect to the SMA.

Detectors: The Detectors (APD) are on the right of the unit.  Green LEDs beside each detector connector indicates Light Saturation when too much signal is observed.  These connectors also fit standard SMA fiber optic connectors. The detector optical fiber bundles connect to the SMA.

In the center of the unit is the Connection Port for connecting the unit to the controlling computer.  The ribbon cable inserts into this port with the notch on the left side.

Connection Indicators are the three (3) LEDs to the right of this Connector Port that indicate system status.
